Journalism is undertaking a drastic change as legacy media is confronted by the impact of the internet on journalism . In the past if you caught a picture or had information about the current news you would submit it to your local newspaper and they would publish to the public if it was “fit to print” as the NYT puts it. But now the citizen journalists do something else:
On the internet they are no longer just the source but they are the source of information which has a way to frame and present their journalistic findings to the world with a few clicks with no restriction or limitation or editors. The news comes out as people are experiencing things with no filter by media outlets and irate as people gather more information about a story then the internet puts the information together in vast iterations to form the news stories.
